Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has urged his players to approach their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with determination as Nigeria prepares for a double-header against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria will take on the Barea of Madagascar and Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau this month as the three-time African champions begin their bid to qualify for the continental tournament.
Chelle stressed the importance of starting the campaign strongly, insisting that the team must show from the opening game that they are determined to secure qualification.
“We have to show everyone from Day One that we want it, and the only way to do that is to go for it with our hearts and refuse to slow down at any point. We must go for the points without any hesitation,” he told theff.com.
The Super Eagles have faced Madagascar five times, recording three victories, one defeat and one draw.
However, Madagascar claimed a 2-0 victory over Nigeria when both sides last met during the group stage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
