Candidates with unresolved admission offers from 2021 to 2025 have been given additional time by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to regularise their admission status.
JAMB announced that the deadline for affected candidates to accept or reject outstanding offers on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) has been moved to November 30, 2026.
The extension gives candidates who have yet to respond to their admission offers more time to log into their CAPS accounts and make a decision.
The board had previously set September 30, 2026, as the deadline after initially fixing August 31. The latest extension was announced on Wednesday through JAMB’s official X handle.
JAMB warned that candidates who fail to act before the new deadline will have their outstanding admission offers changed to “Not Admitted” on its records.
The board advised affected candidates not to wait until the final days before checking their CAPS accounts and completing the required process.
According to JAMB, candidates who accept their offers will be able to proceed with obtaining and printing their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”
The board also clarified that candidates who have already moved to another institution or programme may accept a previous outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the relevant correction or deletion where necessary.
Candidates admitted during the 2026 admission exercise but who still have earlier outstanding offers can also reject the previous offers without affecting their current 2026 admission.
However, JAMB said any request to update an admission after the November 30 deadline would attract the applicable penalty fee.
The board therefore urged all affected candidates to check their CAPS accounts and resolve their outstanding admission offers before the new deadline.
