The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Olubode Bode Ojajuni, has commended Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yusuf Lawal, Esq., PhD, for combining policing with legal practice and academic excellence.
Ojajuni gave the commendation on Sunday, October 11, 2026, while chairing the book launch and celebration organised by Lawal, the Officer-in-Charge of the Special Enquiry Bureau (SEB) of the Ogun State Police Command, at AM 2 PM Hotel, Ijebu-Ode.
The event featured the unveiling of Lawal’s book, Essentials of Godnomics and Rule of Law, which examines issues relating to economic principles, governance and the rule of law.
Speaking at the occasion, CP Ojajuni described continuous education and professional development as important to effective policing, urging officers to pursue knowledge beyond their routine operational responsibilities.
The Commissioner said academic advancement could broaden officers’ perspectives, improve their judgement and strengthen their ability to discharge their responsibilities professionally and accountably.
Ojajuni also used the occasion to encourage other personnel of the Nigeria Police Force to embrace intellectual development, noting that professional excellence should remain a continuous pursuit throughout an officer’s career.
Lawal’s achievement was particularly highlighted as an example of how police officers can combine demanding security responsibilities with legal and academic pursuits.
The event brought together colleagues, associates and well-wishers to celebrate Lawal’s accomplishment and the publication of his latest work, while also underscoring the importance of knowledge and professional growth in policing.
