ABEOKUTA — In a major bid to secure a solid foothold in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Atiku/Amaechi Youth Campaign Council (TEECOM 2027) has expanded its grassroots mobilization drive, reaching all 236 political wards across the state’s three senatorial districts.
The State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Kazeem Baiyewu, disclosed this in a press statement made available to journalists on Monday, October 12, in Abeokuta, the state capital, reaffirming the campaign’s commitment to building a formidable base for the election of former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
Speaking on the campaign’s momentum, Hon. Baiyewu emphasized that the group has moved past high-level political meetings at state and local government headquarters, shifting its focus entirely to direct voter engagement through door-to-door canvassing.
Outlining the progress of the statewide tour, Baiyewu stated that campaign teams have successfully swept through all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 236 wards across the Gateway State, beginning in Ogun West where canvassers covered all 59 wards across Ado-Odo/Ota, Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Yewa North, and Yewa South.
The mobilization drive equally extended into Ogun Central’s 74 wards spanning Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ewekoro, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, and Odeda, while also penetrating Ogun East to take the campaign message directly to all 103 wards across Ijebu East, Ijebu North, Ijebu North East, Ijebu Ode, Ikenne, Odogbolu, Ogun Waterside, Remo North, and Sagamu.
“Our campaign is anchored on direct engagement with the people at the grassroots,” Hon. Baiyewu noted.
“We adopted a door-to-door approach so we can explain our vision clearly, listen to the day-to-day concerns of Ogun residents, and build genuine trust with eligible voters ahead of 2027.”
To sustain the momentum and refine its field strategy, the youth campaign council has scheduled a crucial strategy meeting for Thursday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m.
The meeting will hold at the ADC Party Secretariat (June 12 Secretariat) located in Itoko, Abeokuta, where key stakeholders, district coordinators, and campaign workers will converge to map out further expansion strategies and voter education initiatives.
Baiyewu urged team members and volunteers to remain disciplined, focused, and peaceful in their engagements, expressing confidence that the continuous grassroots presence will secure strong support for the Atiku/Amaechi ticket across Ogun State.
