The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has assured Nigerians that funding arrangements are in place to ensure the completion of four major legacy projects being executed by the Federal Government.
Umahi, in a statement, said concerns over the availability of funds for the projects were unfounded, noting that the required 30 per cent counterpart funding had been fully provided.
He said the projects had reached significant stages of completion, adding that the Federal Government had put the necessary financial arrangements in place to sustain construction work until completion.
The minister also disclosed plans for the Saba-Benin Road, which is currently being executed under a concession arrangement.
On projects inherited under the NNPC tax credit scheme, Umahi directed contractors handling the projects to return to their respective sites, warning that the Federal Government would take action against those who fail to resume work.
The minister also expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would secure substantial support in the South-East in the 2027 election, urging politicians to focus their campaigns on issues rather than what he described as malicious attacks.
