The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has arrested three men suspected to be involved in cult-related activities and recovered a firearm during a security operation in Ijagun Town, Ijebu-Ode.
The suspects, identified as Samuel, Dapo and Favour, were arrested on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun Town, following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected cultists in the area.
The State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
According to the Corps, its operatives moved to the area after receiving intelligence about the suspected activities and conducted an operation which resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.
During the operation, one firearm was recovered from the suspects and secured as an exhibit for further investigation.
The statement quoted Ganzallo as saying that the suspects and the recovered firearm had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba, for further investigation, interrogation and other necessary legal action.
He said, “The Corps will continue to work towards preventing cultism, armed criminal activities, violence and other threats to the safety and security of residents across Ogun State.”
Ganzallo also commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-led operation, urging them to sustain their commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
He further appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information about suspicious movements, cult-related activities, illegal possession of firearms and other criminal activities in their communities.
The latest arrest, according to the Corps, underscores its commitment to strengthening community safety through intelligence gathering, rapid response and collaboration with other security agencies.
