The YAYI Ni Wura Alliance Movement (Y.A.M.) in Ogun State has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while unveiling plans to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The group made the declaration during a media briefing at Iwe-Royin Oke-Lewo, Ogun State, saying it comprises political stakeholders and professionals drawn from the state’s 20 local government areas, including former supporters of opposition parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking at the event, the Director of Administration and Director of Media and Publicity of the movement, Comrade Wasiu Adekunle Adejumo, said members of the group previously belonged to different political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political platforms.
Adejumo said the members came together under the YAYI Ni Wura Alliance Movement because of their decision to support Senator Adeola’s political aspirations and President Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.

According to him, Senator Adeola’s performance as a senator representing Ogun West, as well as his position as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, motivated the group to support his political activities.
He said the group had also embarked on empowerment and humanitarian initiatives, including a medical outreach at the State Hospital, Ijaye, where assistance was provided to some patients requiring support for their medication.
On the Tinubu administration, Adejumo commended what he described as ongoing infrastructural and economic initiatives under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also criticised opposition politicians, including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, arguing that, in his view, they lacked the capacity to lead the country.
Adejumo further declared the movement’s support for APC candidates in Ogun State, including Senator Adeola, Senator Salisu and Olumide Osoba, among others.
He also commended Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as his administration’s efforts in infrastructure and the completion or continuation of projects inherited from previous administrations.
Adejumo cited the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport, the Ogun Free Trade Zone, oil exploration activities and the proposed deep seaport as examples of projects he said demonstrated the administration’s development efforts.

The State Coordinator of the YAYI Ni Wura Alliance Movement, Comrade Akeem Shodiya, explained that the group emerged after some of its members disagreed with the decision of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello to move to the PDP.
Shodiya said the members had previously worked with Obasanjo-Bello during political consultations but decided to establish a new platform after she joined the PDP.
He said the movement subsequently engaged with APC leaders and Senator Adeola, adding that the group had resolved to work with APC candidates in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We are ready to work with all APC candidates in Ogun State, starting from Senator Olamilekan Adeola YAYI,” Shodiya said.
He added that the movement was prepared to collaborate with APC candidates and leaders willing to engage with the group and support its activities.

Also speaking, the Senatorial Coordinator of the YAYI Ni Wura Movement, Gbenga Adewale, said the organisation comprised professionals from different sectors and members drawn from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
Adewale said the group included medical doctors, engineers, journalists and other professionals who, according to him, had decided to support the APC based on their assessment of developments at the state and federal levels.
He said the movement would deploy its human and material resources towards supporting its preferred APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Adewale also described the prospect of an APC administration producing another governor from the same political party as significant, saying it demonstrated what he described as unity and organisation within the party.

Those present at the briefing included the alliance’s Senatorial Leader, Hon. Gbenga Adewale; Hon. Joseph Akintunde of Ogun West; Alhaji Segun Saula of Ogun East; Hon. Kehinde Oluyooye of Ijebu North East; Comrade Moshood Ogundare, popularly known as Oyinbo Iyabo; Hon. Mrs Funke of Obafemi-Owode; Hon. Toyin Kajogbola of Abeokuta North; and Comrade Temitope Ajayi, also known as Obailukan.
The group’s Director-General, Dr. Iziak Salako, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, was also acknowledged at the event.
